Biography

John W. Stephenson (son of William B. Stephenson and Elizabeth “Betsy” Woollums) was born January 29, 1803 in Harrison Co., Kentucky, and died August 15, 1879 in Kenton County, Kentucky. He joined the Lebanon Presbyterian Church in Grant County about 1828 and was a member there all of his life. He married Rebecca McClure on March 28, 1834. They farmed in Kenton County, Kentucky. John was described as a strong person and ruled his home with authority. Rebecca died February 11, 1851 in Kentucky. They are buried in the Lebanon Presbyterian Cemetery, Grant County, Kentucky.
