Biography

Jane Stephenson was born 27 November 1809 in North Carolina, United States, probably in Guilford County.^[1] She married Moses Cranor on 26 August 1832 in that county.^[2]

She and Moses relocated to Hopkins County, Kentucky, United States by the time of the 1850 census.^[3] Their next move, after 1860^[4], was to Wilson County, Kansas, United States.^[5][6]

In the 1880 U.S. census, Jane Cranor, widowed, was recorded as 71-years old living in Chetopa, Wilson, Kansas, with her son Moses T Cranor and his family.^[7]

Jane passed away on 16 September 1882 and was buried at Altoona Cemetery, Altoona, Wilson County, Kansas.^[1]
