Robert Stephenson served with South Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

Robert Stephenson was born to John Stephenson and Jean(Unknown Fleming in 1755.[1]

Robert Stephenson born on November 13,1755. He served in the Revoultion under Capt. Jacob Barnett and and Col. Hill of the New Acquisition District South Militia and was at Huck's Defeat in General Thomas Sumter's 2 brigade of South Carolina Militia. In addition he served under Lt. Humphrey Barnett at Fort Cranby on the Congaree River during 1781 and was under Capt James Thomson and Col. Bratton, but was detailed under Col. Wade Hampton at Goose Creek Bridge and Quarter House on 15 July 1781.

Robert Stephenson and Jane Barron had the following children:
