Ida was born in 1908 in Batavia Indonesia. Her father was in the Dutch army stationed in Indonesia. Her mother was a native woman named Mina, but she passed away when Ida was a baby.
Ida married Leonard Crott who (like her father) was also in the Dutch army. They had 6 children together and were living in Indonesia. However, WWII broke out and the family dispersed to different countries around the world.
Ida separated from her husband during the war. Years later, she got married to Cornelis van den Wijngaard.
She passed away in 1991. [1]
Family memoir written by Ida's son Hubert.
