Alice was born August 20th, 1920 in Albion, Wisconsin to Edward Sterry & Annette Everson. She attended Plainview elementary school in the Eleva-Strum area and graduated from Eleva High School in 1939.[1] Alice graduated from Eau Claire State Teachers College with a two-year rural diploma and taught in the same school (Plainview) she attended as a child. She married Floyd Dalla Loomis who preceded her in death in 1956. They resided in Eau Claire where they raised three sons, Jerome, Michael, and Steven. Over the years, Alice developed a love of gardening, golf, and teaching her elementary school students. She also enjoyed her bridge club, church activities a Trinity Lutheran Church, and later in life, extensive travel. Alice was active in professional and social organizations and continued her education at UW-Eau Claire where she earned a bachelor's degree and later a master's degree in education. She retired from the Eau Claire School System after more than 25 years experience as an elementary school teacher. She was a volunteer at the Chippewa Valley Museum where she gave tours of mode rural elementary school.
Alice passed away peacefully at her son's home in Oconto, Wisconsin, on February 4th, 2005.[2]
Alice is survived by her children Jerome (Joan) of St. Germain, Wisconsin, Michael (MaryLynn) of Oconto, Wisconsin, and Steven Loomis of Las Vegas; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Mindy McKinnon) of Shoreline, Washington, and Jennifer Loomis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; one brother Albin (Marjorie) Sterry of Eleva; sisters Florence Olson of Stillwater, Minnesota, Doris Sterry of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gladys Tyacke of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two step-brothers, Howard and Jessie Lardahl; a brother, Palmer Sterry; sisters, Edna Solfest and Irma Geiger.[3]
Alice is buried at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire, Wisconsin[4]
