In 1759, after the death of his father, he sold his father's house, 75 acres of land, a quarter interest in a saw mill on Burnt Plain, pew in the meeting house next to the pew of Elijah Cushing to Israel Hatch and removed. This was the farm deeded by the Cornet in 1690 to his son, Capt Benjamin Stetson his great grandfather. It was owned by 5 successive generations during 70 years. -- O.F. Stetson [3]
