Biography

Joseph was born in January, 1831 [1] at at Freeport, Maine [2] . He was a Sailor in his early life, but after his marriage became a merchant in Lewiston, Maine. He passed away in 1922. [3]

Research Notes

  • Mother: Melinda's LNAB is Dunham on Joseph's birth record. And Durham on his death record. Melinda Dunham is on all his siblings birth records.
  • Wife: Harriet's last name is Smith on her marriage record and on FAG. Yet, the note on her Memorial says she is the daughter of Capt John Nichols and Jane Couillard (Trufant) Smith. (I'm Researching this before I create her profile)[20]
