Biography

Alpheus Stetson was a ship carpenter. He established a wood and coal trade in South Boston which was continued for nearly a century by his descendants -- O.F. Stetson [1]

Alpheus Stetson was born April 9, 1793 at Scituate, Massachusetts [2][3] He was the 6th child and son of Micah Stetson and Sarah Copeland. [3]
