Birth

George K. Stetson was born in January, 1838, [1] at Bangor, NY. 2nd child of Clemmon and Susan (Ketcham) Stetson[2].

Marriage

Married Mary Melissa Van Airsdale, 17 Mar 1863 at Leon, Waushara county, Wisconsin. [3]

George was born in Bangor, New York in 1838 [2] Family moved from Bangor, NY to Saxeville, Wisconsin possibly 1844, [2] but Census has him in Bangor, on "Clemont's" farm, age 12, with his parents, 5 siblings, and his uncle Charles Stetson, in 1850. [18]

  • 1860. age 22, single, living with his parents, and 3 siblings, on his family farm in Springwauter, Saxville Post Office, Wisconsin. [19]
  • 1870, age 32, married and living with his wife "Mary" (27) and 3 children: Fred (7), Anna (5), and Emiline (3), at Saxville, Pine River Post Office, Wisconsin. Also in the household is George's younger sister Lydia Stetson (30) [6]
  • 1880, age 41, married living at Saxville, Wisconsin with his wife Mary, and 5 children: Marian (4 mos), George (6), Amy (14), Emily (13) and Jessie (3) Stetson on their farm. [8]
  • 1900, age 62, married 38 years, as George "Stetsen," living with wife Mary, and children: George M. (26), Mary (20) and Belle E. (13) Stetson on his farm in Leon Town, Waushara, Wisconsin. [1]
  • 1905, age 66, married to Mary and living with her and daughter Belle E. Stetson (18) on their farm in Leon, Wisconsin. [20]
