John who succeeded his father as Laird of Fungorth & Balleid was an advocate of the Scottish Bar.
On the 9 Mar 1698 he sold the lands of Fungorth to John Steuart of Grandtully.
John Steuart the 3rd Laird of Balleid died without issue.
