William Steuart is a member of Clan Stewart.

William Steuart was born in 1754. He was the son of George Stewart and his wife Anne Digges.

William Steuart (1754–1838) was the mayor of Baltimore 1831-1832.

He was a liuetenant-colonel in the USA Army in the War of 1812. He commanded an infantry unit during the defense of Fort McHenry in 1814.

William Steuart died in 1838.

William Steuart was married to Elizabeth Hagerty of Alexandria, Virginia. and had five sons and two daughters.[4]
