Harriet was was born at Kilmarnock 24 April 1800, the daughter of Thomas Steven, tailor, and Agnes Spiers

Harriet Nisbet dies at Newton, Ayr 17 February 1887. John Mitchell, son in law, is the informant [GRO]. A headstone is to be found in the New Mauchline Cemetery which records, “Harriet Steven, widow of Robert Nisbet, Died 17 February 1887, age 87 years
