Stevens-22631 and Stevens-12171 appear to represent the same person because: Jane Stevens daughter of Phineas Stevens and Jane Gerrish was the first wife of Elisha Hill and should be merged. The date of birth I have for Jane is 20 Jan 1743 at Boscawen.

is there a source to show that this Jane Stevens married Elisha Hill?

There are several ways to arrive at this conclusion. One is a biography of a great-grandson of Phineas Stevens, John Frank Winkley who was a prominent clergyman. He was a son of John Winkley and Jane Stevens Hobart -- and the ancestry of Jane Stevens Hobart given in the biography of John Frank Winkley lists her lineage as Jane Stevens Hobart daughter of Mary Hill and Samuel Hobart; in turn, Mary Hill was daughter of Jane Stevens and Elisha Hill; Jane Stevens the daughter of Phineas Stevens, D. D. That information can be found in American Ancestry, volume 5, pp 60-61. Colonial Families of the U.S., volume V (p 286) in its coverage of the Hill family gives the birth date of Elisha's wife Jane Stevens as 31 Jan 1744 which closely compares with the Boscawen records of Jane's birth (20 Jan 1743 keeping in mind this was still the 1743/1744 era prior to the 1752 calendar change). Plus, Jane is a rare name among the Stevens family and there are none others I can find in this part of the country in that era born within 30 years of 1743/1744.
