George Alexander Stevens born May 27th 1854 in Dekorra, Columbia, Wisconsin was the third son of Alexander Stevens and Palmyra Davis early Wisconsin pioneers. Alexander and Palmyra finally settled in Bristol, Dane, Wisconsin circa 1870 and raised their family. George met his wife Louise Hasenfus while in Bristol and they married January 1882. They stayed in Bristol and had 9 children Oliver, Herbert, Grace, Marion Edgar, Roy, Ruth, William, & Walter. George sold the family farm in Bristol circa 1905 and then entire family moved to Osakis, Douglas, Minnesota where he continued to farm. As his children were starting to get married, joining the military and leave home circa 1914 he moved with his youngest children to Thief River Falls, Pennington, Minnesota. Then about 1920 he moved with Louise and William to Seattle to be closer to his daughter Marion Arnold and her young family. He died in Seattle in the home he shared with his wife in 1938.
