Rosannah was born on the 28th December 1850, the daughter of Robert James Stevens (1821 - 1895), a coal porter, and Elizabeth (Baker) Stevens (~1821 - ~1886) and her birth was registered in Lewisham, Kent in the 1st quarter 1851. Rosannah was christened on the 9th February 1851 at St Alphage's Church, Greenwich.[1][2]

1851 Census on the 30th March 1851 Rosannah was living at 3 Essex Place, Lewisham, Kent with her parents Robert and Elizabeth, and close relatives from a mixture of families.[3]

1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Rosannah was living at 3 Essex Place, Lewisham with her parents Robert and Elizabeth, and sisters Sarah, Kate, Charlotte and Susannah.[4][5]

Following the Banns being read on the 4th, 11th and 18th October Rosannah married William Slatter (~1848 - 1890) on the 18th October 1868 at St Paul's Church, Deptford and the marriage was registered in Woolwich, Kent in the 3rd quarter 1868.[6][7]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Rosannah was living at 13 Ravensbourne Street, Greenwich with her husband William and children Robert and William.[8]
1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Rosannah, her husband William, and their children Robert, William, Frederick, Arthur and Annie were living with Rosannah's parents Robert and Elizabeth at 2 Dodd's Corner, Greenwich, Kent.[9]
Rosannah's first husband William Slatter (~1848 - 1890) died in 1890. The Banns for Rosannah's second marriage were read on Sundays 17th, 24th and 31st March 1895 in St Alphage's Church, Southwark, and the marriage took place on the 14th April 1895 in All Saints Church, Newington, Surrey. She married Edward James Pickup (1844 - 1917). At the time of this second marriage Edward was a widower living at 20 Pender Street, and Rosannah was a widow living at 5 Duke Street, Newington, Surrey. His father John, deceased, had been a labourer, and Rosannah's father Robert James Stevens was also a labourer. The witnesses were Robert James Slatter, a son from Rosannah's first marriage, and Annie Slatter, her first husband's sister.[10][11]
1901 Census on the 5th April 1901 Rosannah was living at 37 Trafalgar Grove, Greenwich with her second husband Edward, and her sons from her first marriage Arthur and James.[12]
1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Rosannah was still living at 37 Trafalgar Grove, Greenwich with her husband Edward and James her son from her first marriage.[13][14]
On the 8th November 1917 Rosannah was the informant of her husband Edward's death. She was present at his death and signed his death certificate with a 'x'.[15]
In the 1921 census Rosina (age 70) was the widowed head of household at 40 Amelia Street, Landport, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.[16]

Rosannah died in Portsmouth on the 10th December 1937. The notice in the Portsmouth Evening News, Tuesday 14th December 1937 stated "PICKUP-Rosina, late Slatter of Greenwich, London, passed peacefully away December 10th, aged 86. After long suffering, at rest. From her loving daughter Annie, sons and families". Family notice published in Portsmouth News, 14th December 1937 "PICKUP-Mrs Flynn and brother wish to thank all relations, friends and neighbours for kind sympathy and floral tributes in their sad bereavement". Unable to establish Mrs Flynn's identity. Rosannah's death was registered in the 4th quarter 1937, and she was described as Rosina Pickup, aged 86.[17][18]
