Research Notes

  1. Father: A. W. Stephens. [2]
  2. Mother: Louisa Stephens. [2]
  3. POB: Gilmer County, Virginia. Remember that the state of West Virginia was created in 1861, so some of the source references that use West Virginia may actually be Virginia if dated before 1861. Gilmer County Virginia was one of the counties that split to WVA and became Gilmer County, West Virginia. Calhoun County is west of Gilmer County, and it appears that Almira spent her life in these two locales. [2]
  4. At date of marriage: Age: 17, which puts her birth year about 1851. [2]
  5. Mother of 7 children. Source: 1910 US Census. [8]
  6. Born ca. 1852. Source: 1910 US Census. [8]

Okay. I set up the parent profiles.

Father: Aaron W. Stevens Surname spelling based on FAGM gravestone photo. Mother: Louisa Jane Wells

So the next step for Almira is to rename her LNAB to Stevens. After this is completed, please add the above parents. Connecting the profile after LNAB is corrected will hopefully not introduce "chained pointers". This will get her profile connected.

Thanks

Hi Ruth. I found some interesting stuff on these people. I'll work over the next several days to make sense of it and incorporate into these profiles.

This person is Almira J Stephens daughter of Aaron W. Stephens and Louisa Jane (Unknown) Stephens. Thanks
