Biography

Mary Ellen Stevens, the youngest child of William Stevens and Lavinia Whittington, was born in Calvert County MD about 1806. She died at the home of her daughter, Ellen C.L. Stevens, after a fall from the second story window, 13 September 1882. ^[1]

Mary Ellen Stevens married James Larrimore in Anne Arundel County MD 13 November 1833.

(translated) Yesterday morning at 7 o'clock, Mrs. Ellen Larrimore fell from the second story of No. 173, Conway St. while attempting to open the blinds of the windows. She was injured at the left side of the temple and nostrils so alarming that the poor unconscious woman died, despite the efforts of Dr. Blake, No. South Paca Street, who had been brought to the rescue. Mrs. Larrimore had been widow for fourteen years, 76 years old, lived with a daughter who was also widowed and had her own money, so that the acceptance of a suicide was completely excluded. Mrs. Larrimore leaves two daughters and one son.
