William was born about 1829. He passed away in 1910. The reason that I have William's mother as Sarah RASON is I DNA match with other RASON descendants AND descendants of children of George & Charlotte STEVENS

Research notes:

  • William may have been among the 26 deserting crew from the “Roman Emperor” irish orphan ship at Port Adelaide in 1848. He married a Rose Doerty/Dougherty in 1849 who may have been one of the Irish orphans. She is listed at Irish Famine Memorial database online as being on the “Roman Emperor”.
  • Williams death notice states his age at 86 in 1910, indicating a year of birth ca 1824.
  • William’s age 64 at second marriage Caroline Harrison in 1893 fits with the estimated year of birth 1829.
