He appears to have reversed his name by 1942 to William Stanley; [4] and may be the William S. Stephens buried at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs, Colorado; [5] the same cemetery where his mother Minnie Stottrop is buried.
He is not known to have married or had children.
