Ann (Stevens) Prince was born in Somerford Keynes, Wiltshire, England.
Ann Stevens was baptised on 4 October 1677 in Somerford Keynes.[1][2] Ann's parents were William Stevens and Katherine. These parents can be confidently added as Ann's sister, Katherine, left a will.
Ann married John Prince on 17 May 1700 in Somerford Keynes, Wiltshire.[3] Only John was named as a parent in the baptisms of their children, all born in Somerford Keynes:
William Prince (1701-1768) was baptised on 29 January 1701 NS (image).[4] William was a yeoman like his father and married Olive White.
Catherine Prince (1702-after 1733) was baptised on 3 December 1702 (image).[5] She married John Wyatt of Woodstock in Oxfordshire.
Margaret Prince (1705-1740) was baptised on 15 February 1705 NS (image).[6] She later married Howel Goddin of Stroud.
John Prince (1707-after 1733) was baptised on 1 July 1707 (image).[7]
James Prince (1709-after 1733) was baptised on 28 November 1709 (image).[8]
In 1729 Ann's sister, Katherine, left Ann her 'Norwich drape gown and petticoats' in her will, also leaving Ann and Katherine's sister Mary a 'jute string gown and petticoats' and (probably) Ann's daughter Margaret Goddin 'my third best gown and petticoats'.[9] Katherine lived in Stroud which was where Ann's daughter Margaret lived with her husband Howell.
Ann's husband left a will naming Ann and all their children. Although Ann passed away in 1732 and her husband in 1733, John's will had been written in 1730.
Ann Prince was buried on 7 April 1732 at Somerford Keynes (image).
