"We much regret to record the death of Miss Annie Josephine Stevens, which took place at her mother's residence, One Mile, on Monday, from heart disease. The deceased was very well known about Tarrawingee, where she had resided until quite recently. Miss Stevens was to have been married in a few days to a young gentleman at Tarrawingee. Much sympathy is felt for the mother in her sad bereavement."[3]
Annie was buried at the Wangaratta Cemetery on 9 July 1889[4].
