Biography
Daniel B. Stevens (also spelled Stephens) was born in Huddleston, Bedford County, Virginia in 1806. He married Priscilla "Zilly" Dowdy in November of 1829.[1] The couple are listed together on the 1850 Census[2] with the following six children:
William Henry Stevens (1831–1924)
Meredith Wright Stevens (1833–1862)
Mary Jane Stevens (1838–1912)
Alfred Solomon Stevens (1839–1905)
Jesse C. Stevens (1839–1924)
Daniel B. Stephens (1844–1863)
Priscilla "Zilly" Dowdy Stevens passed away in 1853 at the age of 44.[3] On May 9, 1854 he was remarried to Agnes Overstreet.[4] He is listed with Agnes on the 1860 Census[5] with two children from his first marriage and three children from his current marriage to Agnes. The couple are also listed together with five of their six children on the 1870 Census.[6] Children of Daniel and Agnes:

Isabella Stevens (1858–1859)
Harriet Victoria Stevens (1860–1935)
Nannie Madora Stevens (1861–1917)

Daniel passed away in October of 1871 at the age of 65.[7]
