Laura Mary STEVENSON is the 4th of 9 children, (7 girls & 2 boys).

Parents: John Stevenson & Sarah Ann Donaldson

Born: 25 Jun 1889. Bapt. 1889/8/4 at St. Andrew & St. Margaret Cathedral-Bloemfontein. NB: I think this should read St. Andrew & St. Michael Cathedral-Bloemfontein.

Married: (Englishman) Horace Lister James Tomey at St. Andrew & St. Michael Cathedral-Bloemfontein on 1912/12/16. ^[1]

They emigrated to UK & were listed on the 1939 Register.

She died in 1976 Elstree & Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. ^[2]

Children: GRO index Births: Tomey, Horace Edward James: Jan-Mar 1917 District: Edmonton Vol.3a/pg.759 & Tomey, Eileen A. Apr-Jun 1930 District: Edmonton Vol.3a/pg.904. Both married & had children.

Eileen's daughter Jean contacted me, (Oct 2020) & told me Eileen had 5 brothers.

I believe the following to be incorrect: FamilySearch - Indexed information (Baptism). Event place: St Andrew and St Margaret, Bloemfontein and Bloemfontein Cathedral, Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa.

Note: Baptism image reads: Baptism solemnized in the Parish of Bloemfontein, in the Division of Bloemfontein.

I think it should read St. Andrew & St. Michael, not St. Andrew & St. Margaret for the following reasons:

1) The foundation stone of The Cathedral of St. Andrew & St. Michael Anglican Church in Bloemfontein was laid on 25 November 1850. (It underwent various rebuilds & construction was completed in 1885). Url: https://bloemcathedral.co.za/cathedral-history/

2) The foundation stone of St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Bloemfontein, in the Parish of St. Margaret, was only laid on 16th April 1903. Url: http://www.stmargaretschurch.co.za/about.html
