Thomas Stevenson was born on 4th December 1845^[1] and baptised in Wednesbury on 11th January 1846. A gas fitting maker, he married Nancy Lingard ^[2] from Darlaston, Staffordshire, as shown on census records too, they lived for more than twenty years in Elwell Street Wednesbury. They had six children Martha, Charles Aaron, Joseph William, Aaron, Hannah and Florence Stevenson
