Augustine attained a BA degree at Trinity College, Cambridge, and was then admitted to the Middle Temple, one of four closely connected London training centres for English barristers.
Augustine married Lucy Campion, widow, on 21 August 1577 in Saint Dunstan In The East, London, London, England.[1]
He married secondly Ann Sisely widow of Clement Sisely of Eastbury Hall, Barking.
Augustine had his will drawn up on 5 May 1597. He helpfully described himself as Augustine Steward of the parish of St Sepulchre without Newgate in the suburbs of the city of London, esq; son of Symeon Steward late of Lakingly in the county of Suffolk, esq and brother and one of the executors of Robert Steward late of Ely, dec. He made bequests to and mentioned
His death in 1597 may have been unexpected. He had requested burial at St Sepulchre’s Church, near his London home, but it seems he was buried at St Mary’s Church, Braughing, in Hertfordshire. He was 55 and left behind a widow and two young children.
Augustine's will passed probate on 13 May 1597.[2]
