Elizabeth (Stewart) Campbell is a member of Clan Stewart.
Elizabeth Stewart was a daughter of Matthew (Stewart) Stuart, 2nd Earl of Lennox, and his second wife, Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of the first Lord and Mary Stewart, daughter of James II. [1]
Elizabeth was still living on 20 Dec 1542[3] but was deceased by 27 Jul 1550.[2]
Research Notes
Hugh Campbell died in Feb 1560-61 by which time he had married his second wife, Agnes Drummond. Elizabeth was still living when she is listed on a charter dated 20 Dec 1542[3] but apparently died before 27 Jul 1550, when Agnes is noted as his wife in a charter.[2]
Scots Peerage named Elizabeth properly in Vol 5, p. 351 but calls her 'Margaret' on p. 496 of the same volume with no correction made in the 'Addenda et Corrigenda' of Vo. 9.
