Name could be spelled Levonia or Lavonia.

Von was born in 1885 (according to her tombstone) in Louisiana to Luther Stewart and Sarah Simmons. The 1900 census indicates she was born in 1887.^[1] The family was living in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Lavonia had three siblings - Milly, William and Sarah.

She married John Lightsey on 6 Oct 1906 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. In 1910, they were living in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, and had two children - Elvin and Clara.^[2]

By 1930, they had moved to Madison Parish, Louisiana. There were five children still at home: three daughters - Johnie, Doris and Catherine, and two sons, Ernest and Edward.^[3]

She passed away in 1935 in Coalville, Madison, Louisiana.^[4] Burial was in the Harris Cemetery, Swampers, Franklin Parish, Louisiana.^[5]
