Robert died at the age of 57 on 4 March 1891 in Fentress Co., TN.[1]
Robert was buried after 4 March 1891 in Wolf River, Fentress Co., TN.
His daughter Ermine was born in 1874[5] and married John Davis in or before 1895 (their son Robert was 5 in 1900).[6]
Research Notes
Grandchildren of Robert Stewart tell the story of old Grandpap Stewart coming Home from Civil War with big money and lots of it. It was no good, Confederate money
They also told story of Robert Stewart being hung by the Union soldiers. The `Rebels` came along and cut him down before he died. I have never found anything on Robert Stewart being in Civil War
Someone in family remembers Robert Stewart getting mail from Liverpool, England. Was told by Willard Stewart of Muncie, IN. in June of 1996 that Robert Stewart fought for the South. Willard Stewart said he seen the confederate money
