Dugald Stewart was born in 1705. Dugald was the child of Robert Stewart and Anne Campbell.
Having no heir in 1765 Dugald Stewart sold the Estate of Appin to a Mr. Seton an eminent merchant of Leith near Edinburgh.
Dugald Stewart passed away in around 1769 and died without Male issue the Last Baron of Appin.
The representation of the Stewarts of Lorn and Appin then passed to the head of the Stewart family of Ardshiel, descendents of John Stewart of Ardshiel, 2nd son of John Stewart the 5th Baron of Appin.
Dugald Stewart was married to Mary McKenzie.
