Travis Stephen Stewart was born on March 15, 1893 in Tennessee, United States, son of James Stewart (1863–1938) and Deliah Crockett (1876–1954).

Travis married Lillie Mae York (born on July 21, 1903 in Pall Mall, Fentress Co., TN; daughter of William Uriah York and Mary Elizabeth (Brooks) York). [1]

Travis died on July 25, 1967 in Tennessee, aged 74. He was buried in Wolf River Cemetery, Pall Mall, Tennessee. [2][3]
