Research Notes
There is an intriguing part-sentence in "The History of Walworth County, Wisconsin (1912), volume 1, page 385 which reads: "Andrew and Arthur Stewart [came] to Section 33 [of Richmond Township]." The context implies this occurred in 1837. If this date is correct (and if the people are correct...) these two (probably older?) brothers of Samuel B. came to Wisconsin ahead of Samuel B. (immigrated in 1842). The two brothers (apparently) settled in Section 33 (Speculating, this makes sense that two male brothers would come to the New World before the family of their brother. If true, it would also explain why Samuel and his family came to this particular area.) Samuel Stewart is also shown (although the date is not precise). This book is available through [1]
Equally intriguing is FindAGrave Number 142146130 -- for Arthur Stuart (1788-1863). Dates vary from this profile, but family largely matches the sketchy bio in Images.
[NEED TO CHECK land patent documents--and maybe find others??]
Until History of Walworth County... (1882) evidence found, date of death was shown as ""before 1854." This source states September 1862 --- profile changed based on this evidence.
