William Stewart was born on 20 Dec 1765 in Marsh Creek, York, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America. He was the son of Robert Stewart. [1] and his wife Sarah Stewart.
About 1802 William and his five brothers moved to north-western Coitsville ,and south-western Hubbard townships.
William Stewart settled in Coitsville, and William Houston, Joseph Jackson and William Stewart were the first Board of Trustees of Coits-ville Township.
William died on 5 May 1841 (aged 75 years) in Coitsville Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, United States and was buried in the Seceders Corners Cemetery,
Seceder's Corners, Trumbull County, Ohio, United States.
Marriage
William Stewart was married to his cousin Mary Stewart in 1799.

William and Mary Stewart had eight children, of whom the the following are known;
1. Sarah Stewart. married Johnstone Dowry of Poland Central.
2. Unknown.
3. Robert Stewart. married Jane Lowry of Lowellville.
4. Unknown.
5. Samuel Stewart. b.
6. Unknown.
7. Unknown.
8. Margaret Stewart. married Robert Lowry, also of the Lowellville family.
