Biography

Alexander Stewart Jr is a member of Clan Stewart.

Bio Notes

Other sources try to connect Alexander through Robrt Stewart "the Covenanter" but the notes by Jared Lidd Olar dissagree with that. http://www.chuckspeed.com/balquhidder/history/Robert_Stewart_Covenanter.htm

The baptism reference below is of the correct time scale and place but the spelling is incorrect (minor) however at this time it leads to a brick wall.

Marriage

Alexander Stewart was married to Hannah Templar on 15 October 1662 in Charlestown, Suffolk, Massachusetts, British American Colonies.

Children

Children of Alexander Stewart and his wife Hannah Templar;

  • 1. James Charles Stewart. b. 1665 – d. 1726.
  • 2. Dr John David Stewart. b. 1667 – d. 1704.

I have created an unmerged match for this profile and Alexander Stewart. They have similar birth and death dates and locations. The biography of Stewart-26704 mentions wife as Hannah Templar who is spouse on Stewart-3827, along with one child mentioned in both profiles.

Parents are different, but sources are not certain in either profile. Possibly profiles should be merged with Research Notes about uncertain parents.

Removing Hannah Templar as wife. His biography is not consistent with having a wife who lived her whole life in Massachusetts.

Hi Allan I have this for Hannah Templar husband

Alexander Steward Stewart 1634–1731 BIRTH 8 MAY 1634 • Glenagle, Scotland DEATH 06 APR 1731 • Marlboro, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States 5th cousin 12x removed

and his PARENTS Duncan Stuart of Appin 1595–1655

Helen Margaret Campbell 1605–1660 but it could be wrong also on an article it has Steward as spelling , but Americans appeared to change surname spellings almost always ! ; either illiteracy or spelling how they pronounced it !
