Margaret was baptised on 23 August 1869 in the district of Newcastle Emlyn.[3][4]At the time oof the ceremony the family resided in Emlyn Cottage, Newcastle Emlyn and her father James is noted as an Esquire.
In the 1871 census Margaret (age 1) was the daughter of James Stewart in Rhosgilwen Mansion House, Cilgerran, Cardigan, Pembrokeshire, Wales.[5]

Margaret was awarded a Damehood in 1918. She was President, Carmarthenshire Branch, British Red Cross Society.[8]
In the 1939 register Margaret, Householder & Farming Land, was widowed and living in Ystrad House, Llandeilo R.D., Carmarthenshire, Wales.[9][10]
Margaret, late of Ystrad, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire passed away aged seventy eight on 1 June 1948. Her passing was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1948 in the Carmarthen district.[11] Margaret's probate[12]was administered in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire and completed six and a half months later on 21 December 1948 detailing effects of £23,681 9s 11d to sister Louisa Vaughan, wife of John Vaughan, Marian Butler, a spinster, son George Pryse-Rice and Griffith Evans, both retired Captains in His Majesty's Army.
