Barbara was born about 1816. She was the daughter of William Stewart and Margaret Cameron.
In 1851, Barbara Stewart was 35 years old, working as a servant and living with her widowed mother and her sister Isobel Sutherland, her nephew William Sutherland and her niece Margaret Sutherland.[1]
In 1861, she is still living with her extended family in the Flaghouse at Tongue Point and working as an agricultural labourer age 45. Also in the household now is a pauper Janet Stewart who is 68 and perhaps is her mother's younger sister.[2]
She passed away after 1881.
