Biography

Charles was born in about 1820 in Piqua, Miami, Ohio. He was the son of William Steward and Jemima (Manning) Stewart.

When Charles was about 26 he married Mary Ann McWilliams on 7 October 1846 in , Miami, Ohio.[1]

They had children:

Child: Caroline (Callie) Stewart
Child: William Stewart

In the 1850 census Charles (age 32) was in Springcreek Township, Miami, Ohio, United States, living with his half-brother Silas Manning, and full brother John Stewart.[2]

Charles' two children, Caroline, age 3, and William, age 1, are living just a few houses away (dwelling #205) with their maternal grandparents. Their mother had died before then.[3]

Charles married Margarette Kelley on 18 April 1854 in Miami, Ohio, United States.[4]

Charles was a farmer in early years; but was a Musician and music teacher in middle years.

In the 1860 census Charles (age 37), Brickmason, was in Piqua, Miami, Ohio.[5] Ancestry indexed occupation as Brick Mason.

In the 1870 census Charles (age 49) was in Piqua, Miami, Ohio, United States.[6]

In the 1880 census Carles (age 58) was the married head of household in Piqua, Miami, Ohio, United States.[7]

In the 1900 census Charles (age 79) was the married head of household in Washington Township, Miami, Ohio, United States.[8]

Charles died, at the age of about 88, Mar 16 1908 in Piqua, Piqua City, Miami, Ohio.[9][10]

Charles was buried on 18 March 1908 in Forest Hill Cem., Piqua, Miami, Ohio. Note: Margaret Kelly (2nd wife). Charles was a farmer & a music teacher in Piqua area.  [11][12]
