COBB_"... Samuel, son of Jonathan and Hope (Chipman) Cobb, was born April 6, 1686, at Barnstable, Massachusetts. He married Abigail Stuart, at Middleborough, Massachusetts, and removed to Maine in 1717, ..." page 12

"Some facts concerning Captain Samuel Cobb, therefore, cannot fail to be of general interest. He was a son of Deacon Samuel and Abigail (Stuart) Cobb, who came to Falmouth Neck from Middleboro, Mass. Deacon Cobb was a son of Jonathan and Hope Cobb, and was born in Barnstable, Mass., April 6, 1686, and died in October, 1767, aged eighty-one years. His wife died September 3, 1766, aged eighty years and two months. Both were buried in the Eastern Cemetery in Portland." "....Captain Cobb was elected deacon of the First Parish Church in 1751, his father having been elected to the same office in 1727. He became Captain of the Falmouth Neck training company in 1756. He died between July 17, 1789, and October 4, 1794. No stone marks his grave. ...." pages 69 and 71
