Biography

According to family legend, Andrew Stice with two of his brothers, probably Phillip Jr. and William, maybe more, first came to "Green River Country" (one time Warren County, Kentucky and later Edmonson County, Kentucky), to check on the chances of acquiring land for a new home. This was probably around 1820 when they evidently decided to move to Kentucky,. On their return home, they tried to get their father, Philip Stice, to agree to go or let them go to Kentucky,. Philip did not want to go. Probably it was not fully known that Philip was in very poor health to make the trip.
