DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with Kepler or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Kepler:

Hi Kepler, thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Let me know. I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.

Hello Kepler,

How are you doing? Hope you're enjoying our site.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able. Just ask!

I love the mission, the nine simple rules are great, and am very familiar and comfortable with the entire Open Source movement, everything from Free Software to Freedom of Information. I've been interested in ancestry for a little while and have mostly poked around in the Tree my family uses, but this website seemed very fascinating when I found it.

Hi, Kepler -

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM; thank you so much! Here's a link to a great step-by-step explanation of the process, including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, good to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
