Birth

John was baptised at St Mary's, Wootton, Oxfordshire on 10th April 1803.[1] He was the son of Richard Stiles and Anne (Palmer) Stiles.

Marriage

John Stiles and Jane Hunt were married after banns at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 7th July 1828.[2] John was a bachelor from Hanborough whilst Jane was a spinster living in Burford, Oxfordshire. Both made their mark with a cross on the register. The witnesses to the marriage were John Bryan and Amelia Walker.
