I actually ran into them after noticing you mentioned a Lowry connection in your Meet our Members post. : ) My grandmother's maiden name is Lowry and our Lowry side also came from Tennessee (See Isaac Lowry) around McMinn and Monroe County. They married into the Magill family who lived primarily in Greene County, Tennessee, so I wanted to see if there was a connection. No luck yet though!

Hi Michael,

This is interesting, just found that we have 25 degrees of separation on connection finder. This is on my Mother's side. However, on my Father's side we are 16th Cousins with William Paulet as common ancestor. I am living in north east Scotland.

Best wishes.

Angus.

Hello. I am 99% sure that we are cousins. I believe your Martha F. Smith, definitely Sophia Smith, meets mine, also connected to your Cealey Smith, in her brother James' line, possibly. So often the brother's and sisters of one family married brothers and sisters in another, or cousins. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smith-17576

I think, if you look where some of my ancestors are in NC & VA, I think you will find your lines. I have seen many of these names. I have Reynolds, Church and Tillman in my DNA matches. LOL I think we are related more than once. I love your profile page. I want to learn how to do that. I have a lot of notables and Presidents, and a LOT of Nobility, all of Europe, part of Egypt and all of Persia and Babylon, all of the way back. Nice to meet you.

Greetings, Michael Stills seems you are, 20th Degree cousins, from me, Thomas J. Teters. my earliest know Ggfather is Henry Teter- 1765-1823 (Germany-Ohio). I am looking for any earlier ancestors, from a 3 generational search, my mother left me. My y-DNA is a G2a2b...so we are not Genetically related, but I was hope you had something before Henry. The family 'story' is he was one of the Baden Hessians (~5000) that stayed over after the Rev. War. Good luck in your research and my email address is - TomT@Starmon.com Ihave a pretty good page here on Wikitree, as well. Just cuz !!

Hi Michael,

Please read the message below first. As time permits, please look in on Lauren (Barnes-11022) she will be a rising star on Wikitree. She has been deaf since birth and at the 34 has 9 years of genealogical research experience. She has no formal training, but in my opinion, her native research skills equal two PhD's and a State DAR Registrar who contribute to my website. She has a brick wall and the only way I and other test taker can link to her is via DNA. I would truly welcome help with this.

Hi Michael - Thank you,

Our paths cross once again. You left a message concerning confirmed by DNA on the profile of Barnes-11022. The correct answer is we think so but none searching our line truly understand DNA so we muddle. If you are in a position to help we would welcome it. The biggest problem is that we are using au-DNA to try to resolve issues that in some case are more than 8 generations from our MRCA. Peter Roberts does not believe that you can set cM and SNP lower than the GEDmatch defaults which rarely but sometimes results in a match. Andreas West a lesser know DNA authority disagree. (see a g2g discourse between the two.) I can supply a list of 7-8 test takers with firm paper-trails to Barnes-1145 if you or anyone is will to help. On another note see next comment
