Biography

Dora Belle Stinson was born on 12 Nov 1880, in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Robert Stinson and Fannie S. Jones.

Dora married ------ Butler in 1895 or 1896. They had one child, Ray Boyd Butler, who was born in November of 1896.[1]

In 1900, Dora had been married for four years and had a three-year-old son, Ray Boyd Butler, born in November of 1856. At the time of the census, she and her son were found living in the household of her parents, Robert and Fannie Stinson, in Cub Run Precinct, Hart County, Kentucky.[2]

Dora married her second husband, Grider Francis Logsdon in about 1907.[3] They had six children:

  1. Maude Leigh Logsdon (b. 12 Oct 1907)[4]
  2. Abraham Lincoln Logsdon (b. ca. 1909, Hart County, Kentucky)[5][6]
  3. Lucy Artie ("Luffie") Logsdon (b. ca. 1910)[7][8]
  4. Fannie Elizabeth Logsdon (b. 13 Apr 1912, Hart County, Kentucky)[9]
  5. William D. ("Deck") Logsdon (b. ca. 1916)[10]
  6. Clinton Carlisle Logsdon (b. ca. 1920)[11]

In 1930, Grider and Dora were living in Christian County, Kentucky. He was renting their farm there in exchange for half his crop. Living with them were their daughter, Maude (age 22, divorced), and their three sons: Lincoln (age 21, single), Deck (age 12) and Clinton C. (age 10). Also with them were two grandchildren: James H. Sisk (age 5) and Dora L. Sisk (age 4).[12]

In 1940, Grider and Dora were living in Todd County, Kentucky with their 23-year-old son, William D. Logsdon (a shoe repairer), their married daughter, Maude L. Hall (age 32, a registered nurse), and two grandchildren, James H. Sisk (age 15) and Dora R. Sisk (age 13).[13]

From about 1943 until at least 1948, Dora and Grider lived in Pueblo, Colorado.[14] In 1948, he was working as a laborer at Standard Fire Brick Co.[15]

Grider Frances Logsdon died on 19 Apr 1955, in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky.[16]

Dora Belle (Stinson) Butler Logsdon died on 5 Oct 1967, and was buried with her second husband, Grider Francis Logsdon, in Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky.[17]
