William (Stirling) Stirling IIIrd of Law was born in Scotland.

William was born before 1563. He was the son of Andrew Sterling.^[1][2]

He had the the estates of Law, Portnellan, and Edinbarnet.

He married Margaret, daughter of of Hugh Crawfurd of Clobarhill^[2] and had issue:
