Augustus W. Stith was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Howard Stith. He was a blacksmith and enlisted for the Confederacy as Pvt in Co. B of the 6th Regiment of the Kentucky Mounted Infantry. A grave memorial states he died in Corinth, Mississippi.
