Biography

George H. Stith was born March 11, 1811 in Big Spring, Breckinridge County, Kentucky. He died July 05, 1870 in Lebanon of LaClede County, Missouri.

He is believed to have married about 1840 to his wife Adaline Payton [or Patton], born August 15, 1822 in Georgia. Death records of her children James P. Stith and Eliza "Lydia" Hough name her Adeline Payton & Adeline Pate respectively. Their marriage record is not found. As the widow of George, she remarried to J. J. Jolly in 1877. She died July 30, 1889 in Drynob of LaClede County, Missouri. The nine children of George and Adeline were named in her obituary, to wit:
