A pretty wedding seen at Fremantle on June 22, was that of Eileen Agnes, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J Stockden, Wiluna, and Ronald Peter, only son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Campbell of Third-avenue, Mt Lawley, which took place at St Patrick's Church, Fremantle, with Father Ryan officiating.
The bride, who was given away by her uncle. Mr. F. A. Stockden, wore an old-world trained gown of moire taffeta, over which fell a beautiful veil (loaned by the groom's aunt), held with a coronet of lace and orange blossom. She carried a mother of pearl prayerbook with trailers of tuberoses.
Miss Glen Campbell (the groom's sister) was bridesmaid, wearing blue moire taffeta, also in old-world style, with an early Victorian bonnet and basket of autumn-coloured roses. Mr. Clarence ("Jum") Shaw was best man.
The reception was at the Rende-vous, Fremantle. Mrs. Stockden receiving and wearing artichoke jersey sheer with navy accessories. Mrs. Campbell chose navy fancy crepe with navy accessories.
Eileen and Ronald had four children together, Diane, Sandra, Desmond, Philip and Russell.
Eileen passed away on 5 June 1999 in Western Australia.
