Ethel was born in 1867. She was the daughter of Reverend Samuel Stocks and Edith Fenton.

Her father passed away in 1871.

Ethel continued to live with her mother in Monk End, Smeaton, Durham, England and Milverton, Somersetshire, England.

Her mother passed away in 1924.

Ethel passed away in 1959 at the age of 92, unmarried.^[1]
