Thanks, Lydia ... and, yep, this is kind of a mess. I just don't want to jump into a merge that isn't right. Abigail Stoddard had several marriages but there were several Abigail Stoddards in the Litchfield area during the 1700's ... and beyond. Of the three we're considering, two were married to Josiah Smith and one to Ezeikel Cady and those marriage dates overlap ... so, they are not the same Abigail Stoddard. I do think that those two other profiles with Josiah Smith as spouse should be merged but I'll let the profile managers deal with that and I think you can do that.
I'm still not overly confident about this Abigail and her heritage but I'm working with the Cady folks to get more information.
Thanks.
Definitely there is a need for further research but these individuals are supposedly are in different generations with different parents. Cady-1003 had a son, Ezekiel (possibly Jr.?) who may be the spouse of Stoddard-420. Before a merge happens, we would need to sort out the birth parents and date discrepancies.
UNKNOWN-26559 and Stoddard-420 are not ready to be merged because: The children of Abigail Unknown are not right ... Abigail Stoddard had one (maybe two) Smith children before marrying E. Cady.
Cady-251 and Cady-627 appear to represent the same person because: Abigail is now connected to correct Ezekiel as husband on both profiles. Merge can now proceed.
There are 3 profiles for this woman pending merges
I'm still not overly confident about this Abigail and her heritage but I'm working with the Cady folks to get more information. Thanks.
