Biography

James Stoddard, son of John and Sarah (Camp) Stoddard, was born 20 June 1714 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.[1]
He married at Litchfield, Abigail Peck, daughter of William Peck and his first wife (name Unknown) on 22 June 1738.[1][2] Lois (Webster) Peck was was the second wife of William Peck and not the mother of Abigail.
James Stoddard and his wife Abigail had six children: Briant, Orange (aka "Orringh"), Abigail, Sarah, James and Rhoda.[1]
James was accidentally killed at a house raising in Litchfield on 28 March, 1749.[3] He was buried at Litchfield South Farms (now Morris, Connecticut) and was the first one buried in the east burial ground at Litchfield South Farms.[1]
