Research Notes

Appears prior research shows him as the son of Thomas Clifton Stone and Mary Ann Webb, some records show his mother as Nancie A Ellis

Middle name appears to be Hempstead, although his 1880 record has this as his first name. The argument for Haywood to be Haywood Hempstead Stone is compelling, as the only H H Stone's found in searches only come up with Haywood and Hempstead. The connection may require further research.
